Thank you for the opportunity to serve as ISA Edmonton Section President for the 2025-2026 season. ISA has been a huge part of my career. In fact, every job I've had has come from a connection I've made through this organization!
I'm proud to have volunteered at the Society level leading the committee that founded ISA Young Professionals. I've also been an active ISA Edmonton Section Board Member serving as Alberta Directory of Automation Chair, Treasurer and President Elect. Another highlight has been mentoring in the ISA Edmonton Section Mentorship Program.
My presidency is inspired by the desire to dive deeper into the realm of giving back. Ultimately, how can I impact our Section's legacy?
Top of my agenda is sustainability. Looking back on my presidency, I want to be remembered for building on our past successes - while - bringing new ideas, fostering a renewed sense of community, building our Board by recruiting fresh faces and encouraging engagement, providing opportunities for personal and professional development, and finally, collaborating with other Sections.
Launched this past June, I'm excited about the fresh direction our website has given us. Come in, I encourage you to: say hello and learn what we're about, get involved - we have an abundance of opportunities for automation professionals and students, tap in to both our local and global resources, catch up by reading our blog stories, and reach out - we want to hear from you.
Events are a big part of what we offer locally and you're invited. Our always sold-out ISA Edmonton Section Fall Classic Invitational kicks things off. Expect another packed-house for Student Industry Night in February and I can't wait to co-moderate our 2nd Women In Automation Luncheon this spring!
In addition to these staples, the now and future of the automation industry is focused on environmental impact, safety, big data, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity - watch for upcoming Technical Talks that cover these topics, and dig deeper into the latter with the freshly launched ISA Edmonton Section Operations Technology Cybersecurity Special Interest Group (OTCSIG).
I look forward to the next year of sustaining our Section with YOU...
